At the January 2012 meeting Firefighter Josh Hoffman was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Josh started out as a Junior member and graduated Firefighter I in 2008.

 Josh is continuing the long standing Hoffman family tradition of serving with PNFC.

 
E1103 Tower11 assist Dividing Creek Fire Company Extinguish Barn Fire {Run #198}

Station 18 [Dividing Creek], E1103, Tower 11 [Port Norris Fire], T1202 [Mauricetown Fire], T3911 [Downe Twp Fire/Rescue] and Squad 36 [Downe Twp EMS] were dispatched to Main St. in Dividing Creek for a structure fire.

 
A member of the Cumberland County Fire Police was the first to arrive and reported heavy fire showing from a barn.
 
Port Norris Deputy Chief Bill Rhubart arrived on location and ordered E1103’s crew to proceed to the rear of the structure and lead off with a blitz fire on the B/C corner of the building.
 
Dividing Creek Deputy Chief Dan Wolf arrived on location and assumed command. Shortly after B1307, R1822[mini-pumper] and NJFFS were special called to extinguish spot fires due to the structure being located in close proximity to woods.
 
Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down mixed crews used a 2.5” line from E1103 to extinguish the fire
 
T3911, T1811 and T1202 supplied E1103’s 2.5” line
 
R1822 and R1221 provided lighting to the scene
 
36r was on scene to assist with firefighter rehab.
 
The fire was brought under control in 45 minutes with no reported injuries.
 
Cumberland County Fire Marshal and NJSP arson unit are investigating the cause of the fire.

E1103 assists on MVC in Dividing Creek {Run #149}

E1103 was dispatch to Main Street in Dividing Creek for a MVC

 
Dividing Creek E1801 arrived on location and reported a pick up versus a utility pole with moderate damage to the front of the vehicle with one injury.
 
The crew from E1103 was ordered to perform a hazard assessment of the vehicle and assist with the removal of the patient from the vehicle.
 
Once the vehicle was secure and the patient was being treated by EMS E1103 was release by command.

E1103 was dispatch to North Ave in Mauricetown to assist with an MVC, while enroute command ordered E1103 to handle the LZ.

Tower 11 Assists Leesburg Fire Company with a 2 alarm dwelling {Run #123}

E2601, T2511, Tower 11 and Squad 22 was dispatched to Main St. in Leesburg for a Dwelling.

Leesburg Deputy Chief Mike Phillips [26-32] arrived on location and reported heavy smoke showing from an attached garage and requested a 2nd alarm and the salvation army canteen due to excessive heat.
 
The second alarm brought in T2611, E2703, T1202, T2248, REHAB22.
 
Crews from E2601 and T2511 made an aggressive interior attack that stopped the fire from spreading into the residential side of the dwelling. Tower 11 performed ventilation and assisted with overhaul.
 
A total of 30 firefighters brought the blaze under control in under an hour.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maurice River Township Fire Marshal

Yock Wock Road MVC {Run #102}

E1103, R1221 and Squad 98 were dispatched to Yock Wock Road for a MVC.

Deputy Chief Bill Rhubart [11-32] arrived on location to find one vehicle into a utility pole with light damage to the front of the vehicle.
E1103 performed a hazard assessment and secured the vehicle and utility pole.
R1221 and E1201 were assigned to direct traffic around the area while Squad 98 obtained a refusal.
The scene was then turned over to NJSP.

The members of Port Norris Fire Company want to congratulate Tim Reeves on becoming our newest Certified Firefighter!!, we are all very proud of your accomplishment.

Tim spent a total of 6 months training at the Cumberland County Fire Academy learning the skills to become a Firefighter.
