Monday, December 14, 2009 22:19 - Laurel Lake [Station13], Port Norris [Station11] and Mauricetown [Station 12] fire companies along with Laurel Lake EMS [Squad 13] were dispatched to 8019 Tamarack Rd for a reported working Dwelling fire.
Chief John Reeves [1331] arrived on location on Crokus Road to find a 1 story mobile home with heavy fire and smoke showing. He quickly ordered Laurel Lake engine 1301 to drop a 5” supply line at the corner and lay into the structure. Crews then pulled two 1 ¾” attack line and began to attack the fire. As firefighters from Port Norris and Mauricetown arrived on scene they assisted the members of Laurel Lake with fire suppression. Chief Reeves then ordered the tenders from Mauricetown and Port Norris to pick up the supply line at the corner to supply 1301. He also ordered Mauricetown’s rescue 12-21 and Port Norris’s Tower 11 to stage in front of the fire building.
A total of 25 firefighters brought the blaze under control in 17 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation
Laurel Lake EMS provided rehab to the firefighters.
