The members of PNFC participated in and in-house Search/Rescue and FAST Team Operations Drill.

Prior to the start of the drill Deputy Chief Bill Rhubart reviewed how to properly use the SCBA, several FAST Teams concepts, and MAYDAY procedures.

The objective of the drill was to have two teams enter on the A side of a commercial structure. One team was tasked with large area search and rescue while the other team was tasked with fire suppression. The search and rescue team were given a report by command that there was a small “cone” shaped child still in the structure.

While attempting to locate the base of the fire we simulated a ceiling collapse onto the fire suppression team. Once the crews were trapped they were to call for a MAYDAY and provide a LUNAR to the IC. At which time the FAST was placed into service and proceeded to rescue the fire suppression team.
