On November 23rd at 1830 members from Port Norris, Mauricetown and Laurel Lake Fire Companies along with Laurel Lake EMS attended a live burn drill at the Cumberland County Fire Academy.
The objective of the drill was to have a crew advance a hand line into the fire building and extinguish the fire. At the same time a second drill perform search and rescue on the second floor of the fire building. Finally a third crew on Tower 11 stood by to bring the victim do the ground when the interior crews located the victim.
Mauricetown’s Engine 1201 went to the fill site and established a water supply. While Laurel Lake Engine 1301 fed by a 2 ½” line from Mauricetown was the attack pumper.
We would like to thank the Instructors from the Cumberland County Fire Academy that took the time to come out and help us with the drill.
