PNFC crews assist with fully involved mobile home

Laurel Lake [Station13], Port Norris [Station11] and Mauricetown [Station 12] fire companies along with Laurel Lake EMS [Squad 13] were dispatched to 215 Canary Road for a Dwelling

Chief John Reeves [1331] arrived on location to find a 1 story mobile home fully involved. Chief Reeves requested a Tender from Dividing Creek [Station 18] and ordered engine 1301 to drop a 5" supply line and have crews pull two 1 ¾" attack lines and begin to attack the fire.

As firefighters from Port Norris, Mauricetown and Dividing Creek arrived on scene they assisted the members of Laurel Lake with fire suppression.

Chief Reeves then ordered all tenders to pick up the supply line from 1301 for water supply operations.

A total of 20 firefighters brought the blaze under control in just under 1 hour

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cumberland County Fire Marshal Office.

PNFC places Marine 11 in service

Marine 11 is a 2000 twenty five foot parker sport cabin with twin 125hp yamaha outboards. Marine 11's primary mission is to respond to search and rescue, fire, and medical emergencies in the Commercial Township section of the Delaware Bay and Maurice River.  Marine 11 is equiped with a combination Garmin GPS/Radar/Depth Finder that aids us in locating boaters in distress.

Lake Audrey Water Rescue Drill

Port Norris Fire Co., Mauricetown Fire Co., along with Downe Twp Fire/Rescue Dive Team conducted water rescue training at Lake Audrey in Commercial Township.

 The drill consisted of the boat crews locating, packaging and transporting two “victims” that were located along the shore line while the dive team conducted underwater search and rescue for two additional “victims”.
 
A total of 39 Emergency personnel participated in the drill that last approx. 2 ½ hours.

Working Fire on Dandelion Rd {Run #155}

Laurel Lake Fire Rescue (Station 13/Squad 13), Port Norris (Station 11) Mauricetown (Station 12) fire companies were dispatched to the 300 block of Dandelion Road for a Dwelling.

Chief John Reeves (13-31) arrived on location and reported heavy smoke and fire showing from the “B” side of a mobile home. Chief Reeves ordered Engine 1303 to pull a 1.75” line for a defensive attack on the mobile home. He also ordered the crew from 1303 to strech a 4” line to the intersection for water supply. While fighting the blaze several explosions were heard one of which was an oil tank that caused the “C” side wall to collapse.

 
Once a water supply was established Chief Reeves ordered two more hand lines placed into service to extinguish the fire.
 
Tenders 1202 and 1311 along with Engine 1103 supplied water to the scene.
 
Millville Fire Dept (Station 30) was called to the scene for their Cascade Unit.
 
Laurel Lake EMS (Squad 13) and Belleplain EMS (Squad 22) were on scene to provide rehab to the firefighters
 
A total of  20 firefighters brought the blaze under control in 30 minutes
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cumberland County Fire Marshal.

The Officers and Members of Port Norris Fire Co. congratulate Brian Errickson, Iris Burt, Matt Hoffman and Tim Reeves on recently completing Fire Fighter Grade One.

The group has spent the last four months at the Cumberland County Fire Academy learning the skills it takes to become a Firefighter.

Fully Involved Barn Fire in Dividing Creek. [Run #84]

Dividing Creek [Station 18], Downe Twp Fire Co. [Station 39], Port Norris [Station 11], Mauricetown [Station 12] and Laurel Lake [Station 13] along with Downe Twp. EMS [Squad 36] were dispatch to 829 Main St for a reported structure fire.

Dividing Creek James Wolf [1831] arrived on location to find a 20’ x 20’ barn in the rear of the residence fully involved.  Chief Wolf ordered Engine 1801 to drop a supply line at the roadway, proceed down the driveway and lead off with two 1.75” lines to attack the fire.  Shortly after starting the initial fire attack the barn collapsed.  Wolf then ordered Tender 1811 to pick up the supply line and act as the nurse tender for the incident.

Upon arrival the crews from 1103, 3911 and Rescue 39 assisted with extinguishment of the fire and water supply out on the roadway.  With the bulk of the fire knocked down command recalled Stations 12 and 13.

The cause of the fire was not determined and is being investigated by the Cumberland County Fire Marshals Office.


 
   
   
Crews arrive to heavy fire showing in Leesburg [Run #82]

Leesburg [Station 26], Heislerville [Station 25] and Port Norris [Station 11] along with Belleplain EMS [Squad 22] were dispatched to Carlisle Place Road for a Dwelling Fire.

Units arrived on location to find heavy fire showing from the C & D sides of the Dwelling and the breezeway that connected the house and the garage. Units also reported heavy smoke showing from all sides.
 
When Tower 11 arrived on scene they were quickly ordered to vent the roof and 2nd floor of the dwelling. While crews from Leesburg and Heislerville were stretching hand lines to extinguish the fire.
 
Mutual Aide Tenders were called in from Mauricetown [Station 12],
Laurel Lake [Station 13], Dividing Creek [Station 18], Cumberland [Station 23] and Belleplain [Cape May County Station 22] to help extinguish the blaze.
 
A total of 40 firefighters brought the fire under control in 30 minutes. Crews were on scene for an additional 2 hours performing salvage and overhaul operations.
 
Cumberland County Fire Police diverted traffic around the incident while Belleplain EMS provided Rehab for the firefighters.
 
Other agencies on scene were Maurice River Twp Fire Official, Cumberland County Fire Coordinator, Cumberland County Red Cross, NJSP, SJ Gas, Atlantic City Electric.

Yock Wock Rd Single Vehicle Crash [Run#77]

Port Norris [Station 11] and Mauricetown [Station 12] Fire companies along with Millville Rescue [Squad 98 ] were dispatched to Yock Wock road and Washington street for a MVC.

Engine 1103 led by Captain Tom Rhubart arrived on location to find a single vehicle that had struck several objects along the roadway and came to rest in the middle of the street.

The crew from 1103 performed a hazard assessment on the vehicle and checked the operator of the vehicle for injuries.  Finding no additional hazards or injuries command returned Station 12 and Squad 98.

The scene was then turned over to New Jersey State Police.
